Canadian Journalist Mark Stevens and his wife, Photojournalist Sharon Matthews Stevens, spent the evening of Thursday, August 3, 2006 in the Royal Suite at Singer Castle. The stop was part of their three-day visit to the 1000 Islands area arranged with the assistance of the 1000 Islands Tourism Council. The Stevens's are on assignment for Lakeland Boating magazine and Canadian Yachting magazine to cover the Alexandria Bay and Clayton areas of the 1000 Islands. Thursday afternoon castle staff escorted them on a tour of Singer Castle and then later that evening, Scott Garris, Castle Caretaker, took them on an extended tour of the castle, its secret passageways and the castle grounds including the Squash Courts, North Boathouse and the Indian Trail. They were able to enjoy the full Royal Suite experience.

Early Friday morning the Steven's enjoyed a spectacular sunrise, had breakfast, were picked up by Island Shuttle Captain Bryan Gedbaw and then they continued on to the Alexandria Bay area to take photographs. Later in the day their journey proceeded to Clayton and the Antique Boat Museum for the Antique Boat Show.
