After meeting at Cornwall Brothers Store in Alexandria Bay to receive directions for their dinner destination this year’s lucky guests Jim and Mary Cummings, Dave and Cynthia Kendall and Bob and Jerry Petrushka were taken by boat to Dark Island. At the Castle, Tom Weldon, General Manager and his fiancé, Kerri Haveman the hosts for the evening were on hand to greet the guests for the evening and lead them to the Castle Dining Room where a dinner that included: Fresh Green Salad with fruit and almond garnishes and a choice of poppy seed or raspberry hazelnut vinaigrette dressing; rolls with butter; Poppy Seed Chicken (Seasoned chicken breast baked with a cream poppy seed sauce), California Blend Vegetables, and Baby Red Skin Potatoes with butter was served. As they enjoyed dinner, the guests shared river and castle stories. After they moved to the Tearoom where Peanut Butter Cheesecake and Coffee were served while the guests enjoyed views of both the American and Canadian sides of the river and more conversation. To cap off the evening, Kaitlin Murphy led the group on an extended tour.
