"COUPLE REPRESENT CASTLE AT SUMMER FESTIVAL"
<back>
Harvey and Flo Jones acted as representatives of Singer Castle at the Summer Festival held on the grounds of the Hammond Museum. Harvey and Flo were well suited to act as the Castle’s representatives having spent summers at the castle for eighteen years during which time Harvey acted first as Assistant Pastor under Dr. Harold Martin and then Pastor after Dr. Martin’s death. Harvey and Flo now live in Hammond during the summer months and winter down South. They are frequent visitors to Dark Island and share stories of their time there with staff.

The Summer Festival featured an Open House at the Museum, a variety of booths including crafts, a display of farm equipment, a pig roast and bluegrass music. Visitors to Singer Castle’s booth were able to learn about what the island has to offer visitors and to hear about the island’s history. Harvey enjoyed talking to the steady stream of visitors and says that the “food was fantastic!”
