2024 Operations at Singer Castle
We look forward to welcoming you to Singer Castle during the 2024 season. Currently we plan to open on Saturday, April 27, 2024 when the first tour boat of the season is scheduled.
April 27th thru June 20th we will be open on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. June 21st thru September 11th the castle will be open daily from 10 a.m. with the final tour of the day commencing at 4:00 p.m. From September 11th – October 13th the castle will be open Saturday and Sunday and during the week when tour boats are scheduled. Reservations for the Uncle Sam Boat Tours from Alexandria Bay can be made at www.usboattours.com. Call 315-482-2611 with any additional questions and to confirm the schedule.
The schedule for the Shuttle from Schermerhorn Harbor to Singer Castle will be listed after it is announced. Call 315-324-5966 to make reservations.
Private Boaters are welcome. We have over 400’ of dock for your use and a dock attendant to assist you. Early and late season hours are subject to change without notice. Call 315 -324-3275 to check our daily schedule.
Tours
You are invited to join us for a 45-minute guided tour of Singer Castle on Dark Island, including four floors of the Castle featuring the Great Hall, Library, Dining Room, Breakfast Room, Terrace, Drawing Room, Loggia, Wicker Room, Bedrooms, Guest Rooms and 4th floor Dormitory.
All tours are Guided Tours and will be provided on the hour with the last tour leaving the Main Gate one hour prior to closing.
Guided tours of the Castle are offered to the public at a cost of US $14.75 per adult, children 4 and up $7.75, $12.75 for military adult and $6.75 for military children. Children under four years of age are our guests; however, young children must be carefully monitored by adults at all times. (No strollers are allowed within the Castle). Extended private tours may be arranged by appointment. Call for additional information and rates.
Please note: Walking and climbing stairs are required to view the interior of the castle. Comfortable shoes are recommended.
Singer Castle Video Viewing Room
Those who do not wish to participate in the guided tour are welcome to watch a video of Singer Castle in our video viewing room at no charge or may shop in our Gift Shop. However, to stroll the grounds, one must pay admission and be accompanied by a docent.
Gift Shop
Our gift shop, located in the South Boathouse, offers a range of items for every member of the family. Items include: Singer Castle t-shirts; unique limited edition castle prints, note cards, and postcards, souvenir stuffed animals, we have the Medieval line of Schleich collectibles; limited edition silver and gold Singer Castle coins; work by local artists; ice cream, soda and much more. Please be aware…
Due to the continued Historic Preservation of the Castle, no beverages, food, animals (unless service dogs) or smoking is allowed in the Castle or on the grounds. Smoking is only permitted on the Main Docks. Tours include walking up hill to the castle and multiple steps inside the castle.
No one is allowed in the Castle unless escorted by a Singer Castle Docent. We ask that parents supervise their small children at all times. If children become disruptive to the group, children and a parent will be asked to depart the group. Due to the many steps of the castle, no strollers are allowed inside the castle and small children must be carried.
Boat Transportation to Singer Castle on Dark Island
Visitors may find transportation on shuttle, tour boat, or by personal watercraft.

Schermerhorn Harbor Shuttle

Schermerhorn Harbor Marina Schedule:
- The shuttle from Schermerhorn Harbor will operate Saturday and Sunday only May 22 to June 20. From June 22 to September 5 the shuttle will operate Tuesday thru Sunday. Departures are at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30. The last shuttle of the season is on Sunday, September 5th.

You are obligated to check in with Customs and Immigration. Under the new small boat reporting procedures that are now in effect, you may now check in using the CBP ROAM app. You may use the CBP iPad station in our Gift Shop or use the ROAM app on you iPhone or Android.
